As a member of Governing Board and an important component of International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement Turkish Red Crescent has been providing humanitarian aid in kind and cash to the Red Cross and Red Crescents of countries of Caucasia, Middle Asia and NCTR for a long time.
Regional Cooperation Coordination Meeting was realized in Antalya, Turkey in May 2006 as the most important step in terms of creating a cooperation in strengthening the relief activities for the vulnerable people at the region and improving the health and disaster management capacities of the national societies of the region. Following national societies attended to the meeting to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Turkish Red Crescent for cooperation and improvement of capacities and to realize these goals and signed a joint cooperation declaration:

At the Cooperation Workshop that was realized with the participation of high level representatives of national societies in the region within the context of the MoUs which are composed in December 2006 and signed at the meeting in May participant national societies shared their opinions on current disaster management systems, disaster risks, current capacity for disasters and to do list to improve capacities in their countries and the weak and strong features of each national society were determined.
As another result of the workshop the need for a new structuring for the cooperation which will include Middle Asia, Caucasia and Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic was appeared.
Turkish Red Crescent as taking this structuring professionally launched an initiative with the title of Middle Asia, Caucasia and NCTR Regional Cooperation Programme (RCP) and established RCP Turkey office by creating a separate Programme Coordination within the society. RCP is seen as the largest scale project in regional terms. In case the project achieves its goals it is believed to ensure the sustainability of relations and cooperation within the concept of multi sector-specific solidarity.
National Societies of the region which gathered again during the 7th Europe Red Cross and Red Crescent Conference in Istanbul on May 20-24 2007 re-stated their expectations to find “Sustainable Solutions” while acting in Solidarity within the conception of the mottos “all for one and one for all” and “If you don’t help yourself nobody can”.
The staff of the national societies in the region who will work together at joint projects made up the principles such as “delivering service, keeping the quality of products and projects high; usage of various fund resources; and through establishing relations with global, national and local resources increasing the efficiency of the partnerships in the region”.

RCP, takes reducing the vulnerabilities through improving and strengthening the capacities of national societies, alleviating the suffer that emerges as a result of disasters and protecting human dignity as a mission with the following national societies which it cooperates with the strength of international society and Turkish Nation in line with the principles of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

In this respect RCP with its specialist staff has started its activities on 2 main working group: Disaster Management and Tuberculosis. With the sub and regional projects on these focused areas development of regional sustainable systems on disaster management and fighting against tuberculosis by national societies in the region and efficient management of this system is aimed.
Reducing the vulnerability of countries because of disasters and improvement of disaster response capacities and the relations among national societies in the region in terms of Disaster Management; and starting a large scale social struggle to reduce the frequency of tuberculosis in the region to the level of developed countries through increasing consciousness and developing follow up methods in terms of fighting against TB is aimed.
